Get to know Arabella

Arabella is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from New Zealand, crafting emotionally honest music that lives somewhere between soul, indie, swing, and pop, with hints of country woven through the cracks. With a raspy, melancholic voice and a guitar always close by, her sound is raw, reflective, and deeply relatable.

Currently in production on her debut album love tropes, Arabella is pulling from over four albums' worth of songs, stories written across different chapters of her life, relationships, and mental health journeys. Her writing leans into the uncomfortable, the nostalgic, and the moments we don't always say out loud, turning lived experience into something listeners can see themselves in.

Inspired by the emotional honesty of Amy Winehouse, the storytelling bite of Lily Allen, and the vulnerability of Billie Eilish, Arabella isn't tied to one genre, she's tied to feeling. Every song exists to connect, not to impress.

Outside the studio, Arabella has built a growing audience through TikTok and Instagram, where she shares stripped-back performances, songwriting moments, and unfiltered glimpses into the creative process. Her music speaks directly to those navigating love, loss, self-discovery, and growing up, especially when it feels messy.

"Every song exists to connect, not to impress."

love tropes isn't just an album. It's a collection of firsts, mistakes, heartbreaks, and realisations.

manchild

Written & sung by Arabella · Produced & mixed by Simon Cohen

manchild is about mourning the person you first fell for, and the slow realisation that they no longer exist — if they ever really did. It captures the emotional imbalance of loving someone who feels more like a responsibility than a partner, raw and direct for anyone who's loved someone who refused to evolve.

the chase

Written & sung by Arabella · Produced & mixed by Simon Cohen

Built on a soul-pop foundation with rich layering and expressive ad-libs, the chase tells a familiar story: someone who comes on strong, love-bombs hard, and disappears the moment the thrill wears off. It's about reclaiming the anger, and naming the pattern.

you won't forget me

Written & sung by Arabella · Produced & mixed by Simon Cohen

A deeply melancholic track that sits not in the heartbreak of loss, but in the knowing — that your memory follows an ex into every room they enter. Introspective and self-assured, it turns sadness into something almost mythic: some connections don't end, they echo.

strap in

Written & sung by Arabella · Demo mixed by Tyler Murray

Rooted in soul with a swingy, slightly jazzy edge, strap in channels the sharp anger of realising you never want to see someone again — and that they were never worthy of you to begin with. Not about revenge; about recognition. With its closing line, "better strap in," it's both warning and release.
